Activities Report
On Sunday, August 29th, 2004, the inauguration meeting and launch party for the Japan Culinary Academy was held at the Kyoto International Conference Hall.

The inauguration meeting attended by 55 full members in the presence of 11 founders moved through the agenda concerning the establishment of the academy, and measures concerning [establishment], [article of association], [stipulations], [assets at the time of establishment] and [appointment of Chairman and Deputy Chairman] were approved.

232 people including the founders, members of the supporting organizations as well as relevant trades and various media attended the launch party that followed.

At the party, after the speech given by the Chairman, Eiichi Takahashi, the logo designed by the graphic designer Mr. Hiroshi Kojiya was revealed. Following the presentation of the academyęs business plan given by four young Kyoto cuisine chefs that served as seeds of the academyęs establishment, the ceremony of Shikibocho was performed by Master Masayasu Ikama, the head of the Ikama School. The celebratory feast began after a toast was proposed by the head of the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Junichi Murata, representing the founders.

Kyoto cuisine created by the collective efforts of each establishment of the founding committee was served at the launch party, which was well received by the party attendants.

The long celebratory feast ended in success by 15:00, and the day proved to be a memorable day for the Japan Culinary Academy.
